Raadhuisstraat houses lots of interesting buildings such as hotels, cafes, shops and plenty more. Starting at Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and heading up towards Westermarkt. As you enter Raadhuisstraat from Magna Plaza end. You’ll head over two canals before coming to Westermarkt. The Singel and Herengracht canals hold many small shops and other interesting buildings. It’s nice to enjoy a walk down them in the early morning or the evenings. They even make useful and scenic shortcuts to other parts of he city.
You’ll find the Magna Plaza and the food supermarket at opposite corners of Raadhuisstraat. Walk a little further down towards Westermarkt and you’ll come across the Post Office on your left. Its a huge building that you’ll undoubtedly see, but might not recognise it as a Post Office.
If your wanting to head into the Westermarkt area. Then look for the Westerkerk steeple. It stands out amongst most the other buildings as its a far bit taller. As it stands in the Westermarkt, it makes an excellent point of reference to work from if your heading in that direction.
There aren’t many coffeeshops on Raadhuisstraat, but it does lead you upto the Anne Frank House and other interesting areas of Amsterdam.
If your wanting to cross the roads. Make sure you use a crossing, this is a busy street with trams, cyclists, cars and buses. Crossings are everywhere so they’re not hard to find.
