Damrak is one of the main streets that you’ll see on your holiday in Amsterdam, especially if you start your holiday from close to Central Station.
The Damrak is full of hotels, cafes, restaurants and of course souvenir shops. With tourists travelling up and down the street all day long. Don’t be surprised if you can find better prices at other streets nearby or down an alleyway.
Checking out the alleys can lead you to some really cool shops in this area. What looks like a dead end alley, could in fact be that souvenir shop you’ve been looking for since you arrived.
If your unsure of where Damrak is, then lets clear that up. If your stood with your back to Central Station. You should be facing the Damrak. If you can see canal tour boats on the left hand side as you walk down. Then your for sure on Damrak.
If your stood at Dam Square, look up towards Central Station (Have your back facing Madame Tussauds.) That huge street in front of you is Damrak!
