While on holiday in Amsterdam, you may find the need to stray away from the fast food outlets such as FEBO and other places that are scattered across the city and find something you can prepare at the place your staying. You may even be just looking for somewhere that sells crisps and chocolate bars at a much cheaper price than the shops on Damrak and Damstraat offer.
The food supermarket is easy enough to find and locate, should you be in the right part of town.
The building is huge and can be found on the corner of Raadhuisstraat and Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, with its entrance on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal.
Inside you;ll find everything you’d expect to find in a British supermarket or any other supermarket for that matter. Foods,meats,drinks and everything you’ll need to fix yourself a snack while in Amsterdam are available here.
As always the staff speak English, although you may find that the general language inside the supermarket is Dutch. Mostly because not so many tourists go into the supermarket in Amsterdam. If you speak English to the assistants, they’ll speak English back to you. It really is as simple as that.
If your leaving Dam Square, head out towards the back of the Royal Palace. Once there you’ll see the Magna Plaza shopping centre and on the opposite corner you’ll spot the food supermarket (Food Plaza).
