While in Amsterdam, you may as well make the most of the shopping experiences that are available all over the city. You may prefer department store and mall shopping, or you might find yourself involved in the busy and bustling market scene that Amsterdam has. Either way, shopping in Amsterdam can be so much fun.

Whether your looking for places to pick up designer labels,diamonds and jewellery from, or maybe even just some trendy home made clothing items or footwear. Amsterdam has lots of different shopping styles to offer.

Leidsestraat

Between the Leidseplein and the Koningsplein you’ll find the Leidsestraat. The Leidsestraat is popular for shopping in Amsterdam, whether your a local or a tourist. There’s lots of bargains and designer goods to be found here. There’s also plenty of places to eat and rest your feet for a while in this part of town.

Kalverstraat

Another of the popular places to do shopping in Amsterdam is the Kalverstraat. This street is easy to find if your in or around Dam Square. Starting at Dam Square and finishing at the Muntplein, Kalverstraat has plenty of department stores,gift shops and clothing stores on it’s 750m stretch.

Magna Plaza

The Magna Plaza can be found behind the Royal Palace at Dam Square and is full of shops offering various types of goods. If your in the market for a nice piece of Swarovski crystal or some funky designer label clothing, then the Magna Plaza is worth checking out.

De Negen Straatjes (The Nine Streets)

Between the Leidsestraat and the Jordaan part of town is where you’ll find the Nine Little Streets. Created back in the 17th century, the nine streets are now home to many top jewellers as well as many different designer label stores.

Market shopping in Amsterdam

Markets are a great way to pick up some bargains and see different parts of the city you’d otherwise not visit. Offering cheap items and unique artistic creations, the markets in Amsterdam offer a great place to pick up shopping and make the most of your time in Amsterdam.

PC Hoofstraat & The Museum District

If your looking for an upscale shopping experience, then look no further than this part of town. Not only home to museums, the museumsplein and the nearby PC Hoofstraat is home to many of the luxury boutiques that are to be found in Amsterdam. Any designer you can think of, can be found here.

Spiegelkwartier

If your looking for curiosa,antiques or coins. Then the Spiegelkwartier might just be what your looking for. Filled with impressive displays, the Spigelkwartier can be found on the south of the canal ring starting at the Herengracht.

Beethovenstraat

If your staying close to or visiting the Beatrixpark area of town, then the Beethovenstraat is one of the places that might make your to do list. Wider than most of the other streets in Amsterdam and no where near as busy, there’s lots of luxury items and products that can be found here.

Haarlemmerdijk

Running from east to west and close to Central station, Haarlemmerdijk is a long street filled with shops from end to end.  A lively area where you can buy just about anything from shoes,vintage clothes,food and Dutch collectibles.
