What is it?
The Amsterdam Dungeon is an attraction in the heart of Amsterdam where visitors can be scared to their hearts content or learn some of the historic and blood chilling tales from this part of the world. Once inside you’ll be immersed in history with gruesome tales, spine-chilling rides and even some horror history.
With four displays to visit while inside the Amsterdam Dungeon, you’ll be clinging onto your seat as more about the disease,death and torture is revealed to visitors.
How long does it last for?
The tours last for around an hour to one and a half hours. Make the most of the rides and displays you see along the way as you won’t be able to go back and revisit them (Unless you buy another tour ticket of course). Don’t worry though, tours typically start every 7 minutes. So you won’t be waiting around for long.
Where is it?
The location of the Amsterdam Dungeons is relatively easy to find, especially once your in Dam Square. Head down the Kalverstraat and on the left you should the sign for the Amsterdam Dungeon. Walking up the Rokin is also another way to get there.
Whats there?
Amsterdam Dungeon has 4 main areas that visitors to the building can enjoy. The areas of Amsterdam’s dungeon are set out below:
Council of blood – Take a peek into the 16th century of Holland and the primeval law enforcement which made everybody live their life in fear.
Labyrinth of the lost – A mirror filled labyrinth almost guaranteed to surprise you in the dungeon surroundings.
Reaper: Drop ride to doom – The reaper ride is one of the most loved attractions by Dungeon goers. As the Grim Reaper shows you to your seat, sit down and prepare for the ride of your life!
Soul Merchants De Voc – In the 17th and 18th centuries, seamen were prone to many different illnesses and disease. Learn the story behind the De Voc shipping company.
How much is it?
Entrance to the Amsterdam Dungeons changes frequently. It also depends at what time of day you wish to visit the exhibition. Book online for a money saving combo ticket and get access to Madame Tussauds at a reduced cost. An average ticket for an adult in premium time is currently around €16.

Amsterdam dungeons are not suitable for any child under the age of 10 or any adult that has a nervous disposition.
