The Albert Cuypmarkt is one of the most popular and famous markets in the whole of Europe. Found to the south of the city and located on Albert Cuypstraat, The Albert Cuypmarkt is a market beyond all markets.
The market has been trading over 100 years and is made up of over 300 stalls that line both sides of the street. It gives the typical market feel of a market. A feel where everything is for sale from fruit and cheeses, to clothes,fish,spices and cosmetics.
The market is open from 9:30 am until the stalls start to close at around 4:30pm from Monday to Saturday. Although closing times vary like any market. If you want to go. Try and make it in the midday.
To get to the Albert Cuypmarkt, you can either enjoy a leisurely walk down to Albert Cuypstraat. Or alternatively catch a tram heading in the right direction. The stop you should be looking out for is Albert Cuypstraat.

Named after painter Albert Cuyp, the market has been thriving and bustling since 1904.
Although the market used to be open to public traffic, due to how busy it has gotten over the years. Roads and transport are completely closed off to all traffic in this part of town.
If you want to spend a few hours browsing the stalls on the Albert Cuypmarkt, then start out early, as many stalls close up early during the winter months or if the weather isn’t favourable.
Great value for money can be found by looking through the variety of different restaurants,shops and bars that line the streets hidden behind the stalls of the market.
