A guy in the Amsterdam area (Eerbeek) went to a police station in Amsterdam to report a crime. Not the usual sort of crime though, this time his rare collection of ecstasy pills were stolen during a burglary.
The collection which the anonymous 46 year old man had collected for over 20 years contained 2,400 ecstasy pills which were kept in coin collecting folders. So the unsuspecting thief probably thought he’d bagged a haul of rare coins. Instead the thief had taken 2 decades worth of ecstasy and some of the pills are believed to be poisonous.
Not the most ordinary of things to collect, illegal party pills some of which could kill a person. But what he claims is being taken seriously by the police as they don’t see why anybody would make such a story up. He knows he won’t get his collection back, the guy just wants to stop the pill thieves from taking any of the lethal pills.
The man claims he isn’t a user nor a dealer, a report in De Volkskrant quotes him as saying :
“I’ve tried it before but didn’t like it, My passion for collecting comes from the varied collection of colors, shapes and logos that are printed on the pills.”
At the moment it doesn’t look like the guy will be getting charged with possession. After all the evidence is missing. Should the pills be found, hopefully he won’t be charged and the party pills will end up in one of the many museums in or around Amsterdam. They do represent history as logos have come and gone through the times. A collection that was in many ways no doubt unique.
The street value of the pills are saidto be $16,000.
